On December 2, 2024, the III International Workshop-Seminar on Hybrid Modeling Methods took place at the Krasnoyarsk House of Science and Technology. Organized by Siberian Federal University with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Grant No. 075-15-2022-1121), the event was held in a hybrid format, bringing together approximately 100 participants both in-person and online.

The workshop was opened by Alena Alexandrovna Stupina, the grant project leader, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in modern research and expressed hope for fruitful international collaboration.

Plenary Session Highlights

The plenary session featured presentations by leading scientists from Russia, Serbia, Greece, and India, covering diverse topics in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and optimization:

  • Predrag Stanimirovic (University of Niš, Serbia) discussed continuous-time recurrent neural networks.
  • Spyridon Mourtas (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece) presented on credit approval classification using a bio-inspired WASD neural network.
  • Artem Stupin (Birla Institute of Technology, India; Siberian Federal University, Russia) spoke about optimizing traffic light phases at adjacent intersections.
  • Kachhwaha Nitu (University of Rajasthan, India) explored the potential of edutainment and gamification in education.
  • Alexander Blinnikov (Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University, Russia) showcased the application of a U-Net generative adversarial network for image processing.

Additional presentations by Siberian Federal University researchers—Vladimir Kazakovtsev, Ivan Rozhnov, Amelia Grace, Konstantin Polyansky, Yulia Ovchinnikova, Vadim Spirin, and Maria Pokushko—addressed topics ranging from AI applications in industry to evaluating the performance of complex systems.

II Workshop “Hybrid methods of modeling and optimization in complex systems” (HMMOCS-II 2023) was held on November 28-30, 2023.

The workshop is held for the time to popularize research activities in priority areas and promote the achievements of research activities in the field of advanced digital, intelligent production technologies, the creation of systems for processing large amounts of data, the construction of mathematical models, the exchange of experience at regional and all-Russian and international level.

Organizers: Krasnoyarsk Science and Technology City Hall, Siberian Federal University, Siberian Institute of Applied System Analysis named after A.N. Antamoshkina.
